1. Service description

FayeBot provides an AI-powered chat widget that founders and businesses embed on their websites. The widget enables automated conversations with website visitors, lead extraction, and escalation routing to human team members.

The Service includes: an embeddable JavaScript widget, a web dashboard for viewing conversations and leads, API access (on paid plans), and team collaboration features.

2. Account terms

You must be 18 years or older to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and API keys. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

One person or entity may not maintain more than one free account. Accounts are non-transferable.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, including activity from your embedded widget on your website.

3. Acceptable use

You may use FayeBot for any lawful business purpose. You may not:

• Use FayeBot to collect personal data in violation of applicable privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
• Use FayeBot to deceive visitors about the AI nature of conversations (you must not claim Faye is human when directly and sincerely asked)
• Use FayeBot to spam, harass, or send unsolicited communications
• Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or resell the Service
• Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair our infrastructure
• Use FayeBot for illegal activities, including fraud, phishing, or collection of payment card data

We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms without notice.

4. Payments & billing

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. Payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your payment card details.

Plan prices are as listed on the Pricing page at the time of subscription. We will give 30 days notice before any price increase to existing subscribers.

The free plan is free indefinitely, subject to usage limits (10 conversations per day). We reserve the right to modify free plan limits with 30 days notice.

Refunds are available within 7 days of your first paid subscription. After 7 days, we do not refund partial billing periods, but you may cancel to avoid future charges.

5. Data and privacy

You own all conversation data generated through your embedded widget. We process this data on your behalf to operate the Service.

You are the data controller for your visitors' personal data. You are responsible for obtaining appropriate consent from your website visitors and complying with applicable privacy laws.

We will process visitor personal data only as necessary to provide the Service. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle data.

You may delete any conversation, lead, or extracted data from your dashboard at any time. Data deletion requests through the API are processed within 48 hours.

6. Uptime and liability

We target 99.5% API uptime. Planned maintenance is announced at least 24 hours in advance. Unplanned outages will be communicated via our status page.

The Service is provided "as is." We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including missed leads, failed conversations, or escalation routing errors.

Our total liability to you for any claims under these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

7. Termination

You may cancel your account at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these terms, for non-payment, or if we determine your use poses a risk to other users or our infrastructure. We will attempt to notify you unless notification is legally prohibited or would enable harm.

Upon termination, you will lose access to the dashboard and widget API. You may export your data before cancellation. We retain anonymized usage metrics but delete all PII within 90 days of account closure.

8. Changes to terms

We may update these terms at any time. We will notify you by email and via the dashboard at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
